McGregors, Yarboroughs, Pistoles, etc.

I am searching for any information on how the Yarborough, Pistole, Allen, and Williams families may be tied in to my McGregor line in Marengo and then Sumter County, AL. I notice in my research that these families basically stuck together through the years 1800 to 1850. Could they have originally moved to Alabama all at the same time and come from the same place and then finally leave for Texas in the 1850's at the same time? I somehow feel that they may have been related (cousins, etc.). If you research any of these families, I would love to hear if you have found any indicators in your cross-referencing. I am having such a hard time figuring out my McGregors!

Thanks,
Jenny
