I have done unit histories for several of my ancestors. My wife and have had a lot of fun visiting the battle sites and trying to determine exactly where our ancestors were. We have followed the 20th Alabama through most of their campaigns. Sometimes being able to identify exactly where they were and other times just getting very close. It has been rewarding for us. We have several ancestors that were in the Revolutionary war and have visited many of those sites also.

It seems to bring them more alive to stand where they fought and try to picture what they were facing. Good Luck you will enjoy the time spent I know.

Ron
