Patsy your Herman A.H. may possibly be my Thomas Jefferson Sanders son. I have my ggrandfather's AL death certificate Thomas Jefferson Sanders b.1852 d.1923 buried in Saylem Cemetary Calera AL his father John Sanders GA. I found 1900 Shelby county census (Elliotsville) for T.J.Sanders with children Ida B. (my grandmother), Herman A., Edward J. & Linnard A. (twins). T.J.'s wife Sarah Mozell McGlawn Sanders dies 1889 so she is not in this census. Also another daughter Leonora was already married. As far as I could find--T.J. never re-married. I found a little info on Edward J. that he died in Sylacauga but nothing more on any of the others except that John Sanders had several wives, 17 children and about half of them went to Texas. My grandmother Ida married my grandfather(Hawkins) and left Calera for DeKalb county about 1910 then died in 1923--grandfather Hawkins died in 1925--all their children were young and lost touch with their Sanders. Apparently there are a lot of Sanders. Your other postings are interesting--If I find anything else that might help I'll send. I would like to know if your Aunt Lula remembers any of my Sanders in Calera! Nancy Pack
