I have a question related to Maude D. Evans who married Henry A. Wilson (son of my great-grandfather Matthew Sevier Wilson), all of Shelby County, AL. I am trying to figure out who Maude's parents would have been, but I am having trouble, since she was born late in 1880 after the census was taken and she was married to Henry Wilson in 1900. Henry Wilson died in 1911 and Maude died in 1915. They left one child Walter Frank Wilson, who was reared by Henry's sister Mary Wilson Durden.
I think perhaps she is a child of Columbus Evans and his wife Mary Jane Ferrell, but I am not sure of this. I wonder if other Evans researchers can help me out with this. When Maude's husband Henry died in 1911, Maude's brother J. B. Evans wrote an obituary for him. However, I can't find a J. B. Evans in Shelby County, and I thought pehaps the brother's name was really John S. Wilson (son of Columbus Evans).
I will really appreciate help me with this question.
Yours, Sandra Lott
