I find a Calhoun Abernathy marrying a Mary Moton on 12 DEC 1850, Macon Co. AL, and an Alfred Calhoun Abernathy b: 19 FEB 1900, Bartow Co. GA, who was a WW1 draftee. I find no Calhoun on1850 Macon census, but there are 2 Coleman Abernathys. ( One in family of David Abernathy.)
NOTE: There is a partial reconstruct of Macon 1850 census that has erroneous information. It has re-entries of Abernathy and many other families. If you see it, notice that it has no household numbers: (ie; family # 21, 22, etc.) I do not know the reason for this reconstruct. (?) Some families in that area (Macon-Shelby- Coosa-Chambers-Talladadega) and time period were mixed-blood White/Cherokee,and White/Creek, due to incomplete removal, plus re-settlement of ceded Creek lands by followers of "WhitePath"(Cherokee) in 1836, Coosa Co. Mine had some Cherokee.
I hope this helps,
