Thank you enormously for this work.I have just now found that my Annie Ritchie Howard whose husbad Hiram Howard died before 1850 in Shelby County (sure wish I knew more about when/where/why on that), married in 1850 an Abram Hudson who lived right in the midst of all those Howard's you listed...as with everything else in genealogy things get more confused, all those Howard's you and I find in the census up and down that road, were not Hiram's brothers or other real close family....he had left all that crowd back in Anderson County SC. (I have all that documentation)....so my mystery now is who were those Howards?.My Hiram and Annie's children were with her in the 1850 census under Abram Hudson.....I'm still working on the Ritchie connection. I think Annie married about age 15 (m. about 1830) in SC before going to Ala.But whether her parents were left in SC or were part of a group migrating to Ala. is still my mystery now.All those Ritchie's you mention surely are tempting as traveling companions but I guess I have to rule them all out before finding the true family of Annie Ritchie.
