Wiley Murphy (b. abt 1790 in North Carolina) and family are listed on the 1850 census for Russell County, Alabama. His wife's name appears to be Luvisa (b. abt.1805 in North Carolina). Listed with them are 13 children (11 girls and 2 boys). I have so far been unable to find any ot this family on any later census record.

The eighth of these children is a daughter named Ann who was born about 1840. It is possible that Ann was my great great grandmother who married James Stewart Clayton in Itawamba County, Mississippi in 1856.

The other children's names are:
Mary, b. abt 1829 in North Carolina
Nancy, b. abt 1831 in North Carolina
Martha, b. abt 1833 in North Carolina
Elizabeth, b. abt 1835 in Alabama
Louisiana, b. abt 1837 in Alabama
Lucinda, b. abt 1837 in Alabama
Laura, b. abt 1839 in Alabama
Francis, b. abt 1841 in Alabama
Martha, b. abt 1842 in Alabama (this name is hard to read and is probably not Martha)
Joanna, b. abt 1844 in Alabama
Willis, b. abt 1846 in Alabama
Wiley, b. abt 1848 in Alabama

I would appreciate any information that could be added to what I have.
