Daniel A. McCall, Esq was b 1816 in NC. Daniel was a merchant in Barbour Co., Alabama [p 198, h134] in 1850, where their son Henry was born, and his younger brother, Dougald, was living with them. By 1860, they had moved to Perote, Pike Co. [p364] and had three more children. They lived in Union Springs, Bullock Co. [p237] in 1870, where Daniel was a lawyer, with two more children and four domestic servants.
Their children were Henry G. [who became a lawyer in Montgomery], Martha M., Dugald Frank [a newspaper editor], Charles R., Daniel Jr., and Rena.
By 1880, Daniel Sr. was not listed. Where did he die, and where buried? Living with their widowed mother were Frank [an editor], Rena [at school], Daniel [a hotel clerk], and Victoria Jackson [a 10-year-old servant].
