Land Records

William and son, Thomas Bolton had land grants in sections 1, 11,12,& 14 in the Northeast corner of Pickens County. Can anyone tell me about this land? Who owns land it that area now? How can I research County records on this land? I know the Courthouse was burned around the Civil War era, but do any records exist that would help?
Thanks for any help,
David Bolton
