Haprer's in Pickens Co Al

Thomas Harper b in Va moved about quite a bit. He was in NC, Lincoln Co Tn, Miss then finally settled in Pickens Co Al where he died sometime between 1840-45.
When he died he still had land holdings in Lincoln Co Tn in which a Middleton Fanning was adm. Thomas Harper and Middleton Fanning rec'd a land grant together for land in Picken's Co Al. in the 1820's.
Was Middleton Fanning his son in law?
Middleton married a Rachel Harper and they lived in Lincoln Co Tn. Their oldest son was named Thomas C Fanning..
Would like to know the children of Thomas Harper.
Any help would be appreciated.
