William Dailey (1766-1844) and his son, John Arnold Dailey, purchased government land along county road 75 and Kincaide Creek south of Ethelsville in 1821 where William lived until his death (His grave is in the Martin Cemetery). John Arnold Dailey was Justice of the Peace in Pickens County in 1827, 1829 and 1835; his brother, Thomas R. Dailey held the same post in 1836. William's wife may have been an Arnold. Other of Wiliam's children were: Henry H.; Malinda C.; Permelia and Sarah Caroline. Any information about this family and their stay in Pickens County would be appreciated.
