John Williams was born in Chester District, SC on July 18, 1768 and was the son of Benjamin and Margaret Williams of Chester District, SC. John moved to Pickens Co., AL in the 1820s and died on October 16, 1840. He is buried in Bethany Cemetery in Pickens County. I have a photo of his head stone. A Pickens County, AL book (I forget the title) has his birth date incorrectly listed as July 18, 1838. John's son, William Williams, moved to Nacogdoches Co., TX. Another one of his sons, Rolly Wood Williams, moved to Itawamba Co., MS. I have some information to share on this family.
