On a recent visit to the MS state archives I located a book similiar to what you are describing. It contained a variety of helpful information taken from Picken Co. AL newspapers in the 1800's including marriages, court proceedings, and other types of county notices. I will check on the exact name of the book next week but I believe the reference number was 929.3. There was also a book listing cemetary markers from all over Pickens county that was wonderful.
