Michelle, Have a Confederate soldier (possibly a surgeon) Dr. James A. Moore, born abt 1836 in Perry Co., Ala., son of Charles Hamilton Moore and Eliza Billingsley Moore of Marion, Ala. His father, wife Rhoda J, and baby daughter all died in 1861-1862 and are buried at Fairview Cem. in Marion. No stone for James A. there. An estate record (his father's) states that James A. was over 21 and "now serving in the Army of the Confederate States in Tennessee."
Tried searching the NPS's Civil War Soldiers and Sailors database, but came up with too many results.
Know of an online list of Perry Co. soldiers who died in the war?
James A. also had a slightly younger first cousin also called "James A. Moore" (a merchant & banker)(1839-1910) who survived the war and is buried at Marion Cem. The cousin's service is mentioned on Findagrave. 4TH ALA. INF. C.S.A. So I'm not looking for him.
Thanks, Dan
