I've been having some success tracing my grandfather's half-brother, Andrew Jackson WORRELL who left Bibb and Perry County AL and moved to Honey Grove, Fannin CO, TX where he buried a daughter in 1897.In about 1906 he moved to Stamford, Jones County, TX and remained there for the rest of his life. His second wife was Elizabeth "Bettie" TYSON. Recently, a "mystery" photo found in my Dad's things after his death in 1981 was identified as the two daughters of Andrew Jackson WORRELL and Henrietta EDWARDS.They were Seabie and Lallie WORRELL.I eventually found out that Seabie had married Albert N. REED.This week I accidentally surfed onto a web page in which I found that Lallie had married Elijah Curtis TIDWELL and had a son Daniel Jackson "Jack" TIDWELL.With the help of the owner of the page I surfed on to leading me to the person who had supplied the info, I found that Daniel Jackson "Jack"TIDWELL had recently died. I found his obit this evening in the Abilene Reporter-News.
Daniel Jackson "Jack"
TIDWELL was born Jan 2, 1921 in Jones
County, TX, the son of Elijah Curtis and Lallie WORRELL TIDWELLHe died
April 16, 2004 in San Angelo.
Daniel "Jack" TIDWELL was the Chief of Police in Stamford at one
time. The obit does not give what dates. He then was Constable for Taylor
County; an officer in Big Lake City and City Marshall of Impact, TX
If anyone else is researching these families I would love to hear from you.Daniel J. TIDWELL would be my second cousin.
