Searching for information on Solomon Smith born October 22, 1785 in Spartanburg District, South Carolina and died 1861 buried in the Ocmulgee Church Cemetary, Alabama. He married Elizabeth "Betsy" Crow in 1814 and resigned from the Upper Duncan's Creek Baptist Church in 1834 in order to move to Perry County. Solomon and Betsy had the following children: Charles Crow Smith, Sarah H. Smith, Catherine Smith, George Rayford Smith, Rebecca Jane Smith, Mary Frances Smith, Martha Elizabeth Smith, Caroline Elizabeth Smith, William Winn Smith and Emma Rochelle Smith. Some of the Perry County families that these children married into are Kynerd, Hopper, Langston, Fike, Suttles and Airey.
