Sounds like the Worrell name. There are so many different spellings it is hard to track them down. One of the Worrell tombstones is spelled Warrell. Never know what spelling to look for. :)
I just saw a new one today spelled Worled.

I've been in touch with Skip and we have tried to sort out some of the Jonson info.

I'm not definitely sure that it was my Alfred Johnson who was living with John Daniel but the dates were approximately the same and the children William and Eliza most probably my great grandfather William F. and the younger sister Elizabeth. The 1860 census Alfred was living with daughter Harriet Johnson Plummer.

I am related to just about every Worrell buried in the New Life Oak cemetery in Dallas County so I am probably related to the Worrells in Benjamin Knapp Newman's lines. The Worrell is my father's side. I am also related to the HEARDS on my mother's side but not familiar with any that might be in Dallas, though I haven't found a lot of those descendants.

I have barely researched the JOHNSON family since I got hung up on finding the ancestors of my great grandfather Wesley J. Worrell (my brick wall.) I am seeing that Alfred Johnson is another brick wall. Oh no!

I got this info from another Byerly researcher (BYERLYS are in my DUNKIN/WORRELL line). There was a Mary NEWMAN (1901-1951)(the only NEWMAN in my file) who was married to a William Hampton BYERLY (1891-1963). What I think is pretty interesting is that they named one of their children Alfred Johnson "AJ" BYERLY (b 1929). What are the chances of that? I think maybe this Mary Newman might have been related to your (our?) Alfred Johnson line ... Maybe?

I haven't heard of any of the other Neumuns ... Eliza or Bettie though, on Mom's side, I am descendant of some far away Metcalfes and the Coleman name I have had associated with the Worrell name. It appears that a man named GALLMAN moved to Perry County and changed his name to COLEMAN.

I did go to a family treemaker site but I'm not sure if it was yours. Sene me the URL. Maybe I can make a connection.

:) Nannette
