4 Negro runaways: LUKE, WILL, LOTTY & ESTHER

Published "Cahawba Press and Albama State Intelligencer", publised Cahawba, Alabama.
ISSUE 8-13-1821

Ranaway from the Subscriber, living in the county of Montgomery on the 5th of August four negroes, two men and two women. One of the men, named LUKE is bout twenty-eight years of age, five feet, eight or ten inches high, inclined to be yellow, no marks recollected, except that one of his big toes is somewhat flatted in consequence of a wound received many years since.
The other man named WILL, is small and well built, and rather popped eyed.
One of the women, named LOTTY is about sixteen years of age, bright yellow complexion. Tha othe woman named ESTHER is about the same age, black complexion, taller than Lotty. Both very likely girls, each of them have ear holes for rings.
WILL ranaway lastspring and was taken in Mobile, and it is believed he will aim for that place agin, and the other negroes will no doubt accompany him. John G. Ashley, William Ashley, Montgomery.
