Hi,

My Sparrenberger family came from Uffhofen, Germany, a town no longer an independent village. It was annexed by the nearby town of Flonheim. Most of mine settled in Manhattan, NY and Benton Co., Iowa. I have talked to a Sparrenberger who's family came from the town of Eckelsheim, Germany, which is just about 10 miles (if that much) from Flonheim. They settled in Evansville, Ind.
I'm trying to find out if the Alabama group also came from the same area / possible sibling going to different parts of the country...if way back they are somehow related etc.

Mine arrived in NY on 12 Dec 1853, Johann William Sparrenberger, age 41 and wife Katrina Headrick, 47 plus 5 children.
Thanks for responding, would love to hear any additional info. Brian
