Would like to contact descendants of Gabriel Merritt (b. about 1793 in SC, d. 1855 in AL) from Ramer, Montgomery Co, AL. He moved there in the 1830's from Columbus Co, NC. Children Joshua H, John Ingram, Nicholas, George W, Rebecca, Dicey, Eliza and Elizabeth. We know he is a DNA match to the Merritt's from Sampson Co, NC. I can't find any records of who actually is his father or why he left for AL. See DNA results and family lines here
