Stanley and Taylor - early settlers
Am researching the following families:
Cullen Edward STANLEY, b. about 1797 SC
Richard Ivey TAYLOR, b. about 1779 SC
The civil war enlistment papers of son Garrett STANLEY say he was born in Montgomery, AL in 1829.
Shown on 1850 Coffee Co. AL Census page 327 line 16:
Cullen Stanley - m 53 SC [ca 1797]
Nancy - f 52 NC [ca 1798] (Nancy Jane)
Lydia I or J - f 27 SC [ca 1823]
Garret - m 22 Ala [ca 1828] (Alfred? Garrett)
Mary J. - f 15 " [ca 1835]
William J. - m 12 " [ca 1838] (Wm. Joshua)
Sarah R. - f 9 " [ca 1841]
Richard Ivey TAYLOR, b. about 1779 SC married (2nd or 3rd) to Kisiah FLYNN while living in Montgomery County AL in 1843.They moved to Coffee Co. later, as are found on the 1850 Coffee Co. AL census. Both died in Coffee Co.
Marriage Records of Montgomery County AL 1817 - 1850 (reference book at Auburn University)"Taylor, Richard Ivey and Kizzy Flinn, 1 May 1843; 1 May by H. M. Todd, O. M. G.E-189"
Does anyone recognize these names, or are researching these surnames migrating throughMontgomery Co.?Their children Harriet Taylor married Garrett Stanley and settled in Covington Co. AL.
