I am looking for the parents of Woodward "Woody" King Davis. On December 28, 1804, Woody was born in DeKalb County, Georgia. In 1824, Woodward King Davis and Mary "Molly" Splawn were married in Montgomery County, AL. Mary Splawn was born ca. 1798 in South Carolina. Nancy Splawn, sister of Mary Splawn, married Allen Davis, and Allen Davis might have been the brother of Woodward King Davis.

In 1840, Woody King Davis and Mary Splawn were living in Pike County, Alabama, and in 1850, they were living in Bradley County, Arkansas. In 1860, Woody and Mary lived in Anderson County, Texas. This couple probably returned to Bradley County, AR. On October 3, 1865, Woody King Davis died. On September 13, 1863, Mary Splawn died.

The children of Woody King Davis and mary Splawn were Joel (b. ca. 1825), William H. (b. ca. 1825), Thomas (b. ca. 1827) and Martha. All of their children were born in Alabama. On February 14, 1832, Martha Davis was born in Alabama, and she died on July 24, 1865 in Bradley County, Arkansas. On December 20, 1848, Hansford Willis Smith and Martha Davis were married.
