Seeking info. about the descendant's of Spencer & Mariah L. "Jones" Atkins. Spencer Atkins was born abt. 1848 in Marion Co., Georgia, the son of Spencer J. & Sarah "Sanders" Atkins. He lived in Monroe Co., Alabama, near Old Texas, Alabama. Spencer married Mariah L. Jones Mar. 20, 1868 in Butler Co., Alabama. And, they had five known children. Their oldest child was Mary Anice "Anna" Atkins, who was born Apr. 1869 in Butler Co., Alabama. She married John Washington Welch abt. 1890/91, and had five children. Their youngest daughter was Mattie Cornelia Welch, born Aug. 27, 1899 in Monroe Co., Ala., and died June 18, 1972 in Brewton Hospital, Brewton, Escambia Co., Alabama. Mattie Cornelia married William Powers Guy abt. 1918. And they had three known children. One of their daughter's was Lillian Mae Lucille Guy, born Mar. 19, 1924 in Clarke Co., Ala., she died June 29, 1989 in Bay Minette, Baldwin Co., Alabama. Lillian Mae married James Lamar Brooks, and had 11 children. Anyone working on these line's, are may know about their families, please contact me!
