The 1908 obits in the Press Register are sketchy at best. Unless one was a prominent citizen of Mobile, the obits were all published in the Sunday edition under the classification of Vital Statistics, giving only name and death date. You might try ancestry.com, which has the 1908-1959 State Death Index, giving death certificate number, with which to order a copy. This can be ordered through the Mobile Health Department, and will cost you $12.00.
I have free access to this death index at the Mobile research library, but because of the distance (40+ miles), I don't visit there often, but will put your info in my book and see what I can find on my next trip.
