I am looking for information in regard to the township of St Elmo, AL.
St Elmo, Alabama is located in Mobile County, within the Gulf Coast region, between Mobile and Grand Bay on highway 90. I am searching the William R. HILL family.
William R. Hill, born 1863 in England, married 1897, as his 2nd wife, Edith M (Dymond)Brace, as her 2nd husband. William Hill was an electrician, and a lineman for the phone company. He was enumerated 1910 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, PA with wife, Edith, and 5 sons, Cecil, Spurgeon, Albert, Wesley and James. He also had a son, Walter b May 1910. William had 1 daughter, Violet who was born Nov 1916 in St Elmo, AL.
This family later moved into New York State.
Information from a 1927-28, NYS chauffer's license, son Cecil is living in Prospect, NY.
Information from a son of Wesley Hill, b 1904: Wesley attended school in St Elmo, AL.
Looking for city directories from the St Elmo area that would show the years this family lived in this area. I am trying to find them in the 1920 census indexes.
I welcome any suggestions.
