Searching Calhoun Co, AL for info on Beverly Allen GRIFFIN, b. 1788 SC, son of Jesse GRIFFIN, m. Elinder ?, Children: Lucinda m. James SIMPSON; Cassandra m. Alberter PETTIT; Rachael m. Columbus DAVIS; Martha F. m. Russell GEORGE; Andrew Jackson m. Sarah ?. Griffins started out in Edgefield. In 1820, 30 & 40 were in Jones, Walton and DeKalb Cos, GA. 1850 and 60 in Calhoun Co, AL. Russell GEORGE d. civil war 1863, widow was in Blount Co, 1870-80 before Denton TX. George children were: Lucinda m.Christopher MORGAN in 1872 in Blount; Thomas Jefferson m. Mary HUDGEONS 1881 in Denton, TX; Laura F. m. Sylvester WALKER 1877 in Blount; Mary m. Andrew J. EVANS 1880 Denton, TX; Nancy C. m. C. C. EVANS 1882 Denton, TX. Andrew Jackson GRIFFIIN was in Jefferson Co, in 1870 and Blount thereafter. Cas PETTIT was in Jefferson with sister Rachael DAVIS and Cas's two children in 1870. W.
