Perhaps you have a mistake in Mary Rigby's dates? You have her being born a year after her son was born. I did find one entry for her on Rootsweb's WorldConnect site:

Mary Alabama Rigby, b. 24 Aug 1872, no death date given. Married W.T. Newberry 28 May 1891 in Monroe Co., AL. Father James Franklin Rigby, mother Sarah Clementine Colvin.

Check James Franklin Rigby in the 1880 AL census, find any Newberrys living nearby.
