For many, many years it has been claimed that Jarrett Dean of Talladega County, AL was a brother of John M. Dean and James Minton Dean of Lowndes Co., AL. However, a Y-DNA test has proved that John and James were NOT brothers. Thus, a male Dean descendant volunteer is badly needed from the Jarrett Dean family line to participate in a Y-DNA test and to use the same laboratory as that of John M. and James Minton Dean in order to prove once and for all if Jarrett is a brother to either or none of the above.
