Hi Gava,
Anytime I see the name ISAAC MCDONALD, I stop dead in my tracks and persue what I can on him - Perhaps, you may have run across them (Two ISAACS) in your searches. I have checked your History and really see no name connections tho - I did notice your Isaac has Arkansas connections and I do remember running across Isaac McDonald in Arkansas a while back - believe it or not he was connected to "Country Joe McDonald" (a singer)Google him for more.
My main pain in the butt is
ISAAC MCDONALD born abt. 1760 in Scotland OR Brunswick, New Hanover, Smithville, Southport, NC. (all the same County - just boundary & name changes), Southport being the last, Isaacs will was written in Brunswick, 1820 - he did not have a son Isaac, as far as I know, just a WILLIAM HENRY, my line and George - George supposedly "lost at sea" I have no proof of that,he just never returned, just handed down thru a family genealogy written in 1894.
Son William Henry McDonald b. 05 Sep 1805 Smithville Brunswick County,NC. died 11 Sep 1887 Anderson, SC. -
He was a Mariner, a blockade runner out of Charleston, SC. & Wilmington, NC. He lived in Charleston SC. Tho.
HE HAD A SON - ISAAC MCDONALD b. 11 Jun 1826 Smithville, Brunswick County,NC. All I have been able to find of him, in 10 years of research is that he married an ADELINE MORSE 27 Nov 1850 - I have found no proof of that either. I have absolutely no other info on him!! He seems to have just disappeared! We do have a Georgia connection tho -
Isaac had a sister that went to Savannah Georgia - MARY HELEN MCDONALD - she was born 29 Aug 1836 Smithville, Brunswick County,NC. 30 Apr 1909 Savannah,Georgia. She married WILLIAM JAMES MIDDLETON 05 Apr 1854 Charleston,SC.
Mary & William had a son - EDWARD RAVENAL MIDDLETON who was engaged in Naval Stores brokerage in Savannah, one of the most successful and honored businessman of the city. He was born in Charleston, SC. Feb. 28, 1855
I'd have to look thru my notes but I know I have run across MARY IVY before, and I do believe there were NC. Connections to her family. Have you ever researched MCDONALD'S in North Carolina??
Anyway, I just thought I'd throw my ISAAC MCDONALD at you and see what you may have to say - Ya never know!!!
Much Thanks, Samantha (McDonald)
