Thomas, you are so right, I usually don't forget that important info..
Rufus Sherrill Moyers born Dec 27, 1850 Tennessee
d. Mar. 7, 1909 Limestone Co. Ala
buried Tanner Cemetery, Limestone Co. Alabama
1st wife: Mary Frances Weir b. November 13, 1848
d. June 9, 1901
married to Rufus Feb. 4, 1875 Limestone Co. Ala
They had 7 children
Mary's parents were
Leonard Lindsey Weir b. Nov. 18, 1818 TN
d. Sept. 12, 1895 Limestone Co. Ala
married Susan Frances Young June 28, 1844 Lauderdale Co, Al
Susan b. Oct 22, 1824 and d. Nov 30, 1899
both buried in the Weir-Blair Cemetery, Limestone Co. Al
Rufus Sherrill's parents are
Wyley M. Moyers b. Oct. 25, 1809 TN
d. October 19, 1872 Limestone Co. Ala
married Aug 16, 1832 Washington, Rhea Co. Tn to Sarah Jane "Sallie" Jones b. Sept. 3, 1818 d. May 5, 1897
It is not known where Wyley is buried for sure, could be Weir Blair Cemetery or could be Wallace Cemetery along w/ his wife Sallie, she has a stone but there is no stone for Wyley. Someone once said they found a broken stone in Weir-Blair Cemetery that could have been Wyley's as it said "oyers" on one piece that was found. This cemetery is located close to a river that is now a cow pasture and only about 6 stones out of TVA's count of about 150 are left standing.
If Rufus did re-marry after the death of his wife Mary then it would have been between her death in 1901 and his death in 1909. Therefore there would not be a census w/ him and his second wife listed.
