I am told that Rebecca A. Adams married William I. Delony, maybe in the area around Leighton, Ala., in 1847. William I. is my mysterious great-great-grandfather who disappeared after his marriage to another woman, Emily Catherine Vaughan Summers Delony, in Garrison, Texas, in the middle 1860s. He apparently went back to live with Arkansas relatives at least temporarily after leaving Texas. We believe he returned to his native Alabama -- maybe to his daughter Lucy Delony Carraway -- after that, but we have no idea exactly where or when. We don't know when or where he died. It is possible that he returned to his ex-wife Rebecca Adams in Alabama. We know very little about Rebecca.
