CARLTON STEVENS
Still looking for information on Carlton Stevens. He married Cynthia Henry in Hancock County Ga in Jan 1819 and moved to Alabama at about the same time and settled along the Monroe and Wilcox county line. Last information I have on him is on the 1850 Wilcox County Al census where he is listed with his family.
C Stevens 57 year old male identified as a carpenter
Cynthia 47 year old female
W, Francis 18 year old female
Eugene 16 year old female
John 14 year old female
Evaline 11 year old female
This information matches information I have from an 1856 family tree developed by Cynthia Henry Stevens's brother Judge John Kelly Henry Jr.
I believe his son John H. Stevens married Susan Green. His family shows up on the 1880 Butler COunty Al census as:
John H. Stevens 45 year old male identified as a miller
Susan 35 year old female
Carlton 13 year old male
Charles 9 year old male
Henry 2 year old male
Nancy Green 68 year old female (mother in law)
I would like to make contact and share information with anyone who is researching this line. I am trying to confirm the Carlton and Cynthia Henry linage since my great great great grandmother was Cynthia's sister Elizabeth Henry. A well accepted resource book has Cynthia married to my great great great grandfather Jesse Council Bethea instead of her sister Elizabeth. I need additional confirmation of the error.
