Hi,
I am looking for any descendants of Andrew R. McConnell and Margaret Isabella Boyd who were living in Jefferson County, Alabama at the time of the 1930 Census.
Margaret was the daughter of Richard Boyd and Margaret Jane Cunningham, both of whom were born in Carrickfin, Donegal County, Ireland and immigrated to Pennsylvania sometime between 1874-1876.
Margaret was born May 13, 1888 in Freemansburg, Pennsylvania and married Andrew R. McConnell abt 1915. In the census Andrew is 40 years old so this would suggest that he was born abt 1888 in Illinois. The census also indicates that Andrew is a machinist at a car plant. Known children of this couple are Mary E. b. abt 1918, Andrew R. b. abt 1920, Margaret J. b. abt 1924 and Richard B. b. abt 1827.
According to the census Margaret's sister Catherine Boyd Mentzell was widowed and living with the family. Her occupation is listed as "Nurse". Catherine died Mar 19, 1944 in Jefferson County, Alabama.
Other known siblings of Margaret Boyd McConnell and Catherine Boyd Mentzell are Mary Ellen, Thomas, John, George Cunningham, Jennie Dunlevy and Richard Christopher.
Any informatoin on this family would be really appreciated.
