My grandfather is William Leonard Pruitt, he often went by either Bill or Leonard.
As far as I can tell he was born in Lanette, AL on 22 August 1914, he had a sister whose name is Ruby and a brother whose name I believe is Ben Pruitt.
I found William Leonard Pruitt in the 1930 census with the Johnson Family in Bosque County, TX (Robert and Ethel Johnson) According to this census Bill's parents were born in AL. His mother died when he was very young (I am assuming she died between 1920-1930 as Bill is not listed with the Johnson family in 1920, but is in 1930) and he and his brother and sister were sent to different homes. I have heard that his father left before his mom died and that as an adult he visited him once. He served in WWII as a SGT Us Army (Air Corps). He later died of cancer in 1978. He is buried in Troupe County, LaGrange, GA with a military marker.
I am looking for the names of his parents, grandparents, ANY family that may know his family history and/or have photos of him or his parents or grandparents ... etc.
He has some relatives whose names I know as well, but I believe the names I have are mostly deceased except possibly a niece because the rest would be his aunts and/or uncles. I would also like to find the families that raised his brother and sister and the Johnson family that raised him. I am hoping to get stories, photos, lineage, etc... and to get to know my grandfather whom I have heard varied stories about, but never knew. If you have any information, please post it here. Thanks!
