I don't know if this will help or not, don't have anything other than a name of James Hargrove married to Mary Robertson, had a daughter, Clara b. April 5, 1911 which would make her father and mother b. sometime 1890's or so fitting your James born 1892. Clara married Paul Calvin King b. December 7, 1907 in Tennessee. Paul died in 1973 and Clara died 1993 in Giles County, Tennessee which is also a neighboring county to Hazel Green, Alabama. You might try searching in Giles County, Tennessee.
WAIT!!!! I just thought about looking in my Heritage of Giles County, Tennessee research book and found what you are looking for! Your John and Sarah E Hargrove and family. His name is actually William L. (Bill) born about 1862 in Limestone County, Alabama, son of Alexander Hargrove and Martha Bailes. William married Sarah E. (Sallie) Dungy, daughter of Francis Marion Dungy and Sarah J. Brock on March 1 1883 in Giles County, Tennessee. Sallie was the granddaughter of laban Charles Brock and Elzie Ann Matlock. Bill and Sallie's children include: Ernest, Willie M., Vera E. Florence, Evie, Mollie, James Berry, Hassie and Ollie G. Hargrove.
A little about Alexander and Martha Bailes Hargrove: Alexander b. abt 1840 married Martha, daughter of Wiley V. Bailes and Polly Lindwell on January 3, 1861 in Limestone County, Alabama. Martha Bailes was born abt 1840 in Alabama. Thomas A. Hargrove married Christiana Jane Grissom the same day. A. R. Crawford married both couples.
Alexander Hargrove, age 30, farmer, born Ala, value of personal proberty $175, Martha age 30 born Al, keeps house, William age 8 b. Al, Mary age 5 b. Al, Thomas age 3 b. Al, and Eddy age 1 b. Tn, were listed in the 1870 Giles County, Tennessee census Dist. #1. The neighbors include John R. Carter, William H. Hodge, Henry Dunnavant, Marion Dungy, Mary Faulkner, Dosha Arnett, and Jacob Vanhoozer. Notice that one of William's parents neighbor was Marion Dungy, father of his future wife, Sarah.
Alexander and Martha probably died before 1880. Their children William age 17, Mary R. age 14, Thomas age 13, Edgar age 11, George age 8 and Robert age 6 are listed in the household of their grandparents, Wiley V. Bailes and his wife Polly (Lindwell) Bailes in the 1880 Limestone County, Alabama census. Their neighbors were Thomas J. Wales, George W. Broadway, James A. Voyles (Wales?) John W. Lock, Thomas Hastings, John Baly, and Charles Clem.
This article is so long that I am going to stop here, the rest of this article is the marriage info of his siblings. I don't know where you are located but if you check with your local library they just might have a copy of this book or might be able to get one on library loan. There are a total of 13 articles written on the Hargrove families that are loaded with information. I looked up the name Dungy in the index and there are several pages listed for them. If you can't find one yell and I will try and do look up for names you need.
At least you have the parent info you asked for.
