Does anyone now for sure the relationship between Jeramiah Knighton/Knighten b. about 1790 and Jeramiah Knighten/Knighton b. about 1830. Both lived in the Cherokee
, Calhoun, and Cleburne Counties area of Alabama before the Civil War. The older one probaly died bet 1850-1860. The younger died in the Civil War. Most researchers on internet have them as father and son. But does anyone have any proof that they were, other than the names? There was other Knighten/Knighton in the area that could have been Jeramiah 1830, father as well. I was just looking for any connection to these two men so that I could eliminate the younger from my research.
