I cannot find James Leroy Lusk (1827-1862) children in any of the 1870 census. It is believed that after he died in the Civil War his wife also died and the children went to live with James brother Robert Wesley Lusk in Waco, TX. about 1868. I find Robert and his wife Margaret B. Henry living in Waco, Texas on the 1870 census but they are alone. None of James Leroys children are shown. I have looked through the McLennan, Falls, Camanche, Bosque Counties Texas 1870 census line by line and do not find any of his children. They do not come up on a search of either the Georgia or Alabama census either even on a soundex search. Some of these children do start to show up on different census locations in Texas in 1880 census.
Where are James children in 1870?
Alpheus Morgan Lusk, George Levi Servantes Lusk, William Dolphus Lusk, John Grenbery Lusk, David Henry Lusk, Robert Wesley Lusk b. 1856, James Alonzo Lusk and Elizabeth Melvina Lusk.
