Albert I did a census lookup and don't think I found him. I did find a family (William & Lula) who lived in Montgomery County who had a son William born ca 1896, and although he did show up with them on census, he disappears and they later have another child named Willie. Yet his mother claimed 8 children born, all survive and he's not there with them (all 8 children were accounted for on census in that family at that time). With that said, then I re-read your messages. You claim your William to been born ca 1896. You also mention that his wife was 20+- years YOUNGER than he was, then you write "He took her from Sturgis Kentucky and went to Gregory Texas in the 1920's. " Do the math...that can't be. He himself would have only been in his 20's in the 20's, which means if your correct in their age difference, then she was just being born around then. From what I find online, Gregory TX is in San Patricio County. Sturgis KY is in Union County. What I would suggest is that if you found your William on the SSDI, then apply to get a copy of his SS application. Since you have an idea of his date of death, then apply to that county or state to get a copy of his death certificate. You know when your father was born, then also get a copy of his birth certificate and see what/how his parents names appear on that. (If you haven't done so already). At this point in time, I don't know how much further help I could be. I've checked out numerous databases, as well as census, and I don't find your William anywhere. Any movement or event that took place after 1930 is about impossible to find online. Sue Notify Administrator about this message?
