Hi, I don't know if we have a connection or not, as I don't know the beginning of my Erwin family line, but I am trying to trace down the ancestors of Samuel B. Erwin. Samuel B. Erwin married Nancy Unknown. He was born in South Carolina about 1809 and died in Texas. She was born about 1816 in Georgia. They had several children: Joseph L. (married Elizabeth unknown), Barbara M, (married J.W. Curry I believe) Cornelius, Enoch F., Thomas L., Samuel, Nancy (my g-g-grandmother, married John A. Laws), Melissa, Martha, Amanda, Marrietta, and Lucinda. Joseph and Barbara were born in Georgia, but the rest of the family was born in Alabama. They were in Texas by 1870 and are on the Titus County Census. They are in the 1850 census is Tuscaloosa, Alabama, District 1.

I can not find them before 1850 or in 1860. The oldest child I know of (Joseph) was born about 1832, so they were probably married around 1830.

Do any of these names look familiar to you? If I could connect even one of them, it might help me find some others.

Thanks so much,
Jennifer Jones
