Dawn,

For what it's worth, the 1850 Marshall County, AL census shows a Zelpha Sweeten in the household of John M. and Telitha Sweeten. From www.familysearch.com, there is the marriage record of a Zilpha Jane Sweeten to Hiram Bolton 17 June 1850 Marshall County, AL.

Though this seems to rule out this particular Zelpha as your line, maybe it will help out some.
