My grand pa James Richmond Glass told me this storie, when he died I took a picture of the man of whom he told me the story about very handsome young man. Gussie McDaniel born in Alabama about 1901 lived in St Clair Co. with his widowed mother, Josie Parker McDaniel, Census 1920, Moody area... Near some Bass.
Here is the story, He liked to Play Ball and he was quite good at it., He died in a ACTON (SP) mining accident. Not a very long story but he was so handsome and now I am haunted by him I don't know who his father was only that he was born in Al. according to census information...When my grandfather told me the story I could not believe some big strong guy would tolerate being called Gussie, I have a hint that he had a sister for sure not known if other siblings....Word of warning do not steal pictures of relatives, I did replace it with a good copy but kept original for my self, when grand pa died, now I am haunted by this beautiful cousin who did not get to pass many years on this beautiful earth. Gussie McDaniel died sometime after 1920 Guite handsome in his Baseball uniform, died Acton or Actin Mine, mother Josephine (Josie) Parker McDaniel widow at the time of his death I assume, and lived in Birmingham area, later.
