There was a John Campbell, born 1771-80. He first appears in Wilcox County, Alabama by 1820.. By 1830 he is listed as age 50-60 with a male age 20-30, and 2 males age 10-15: 1 female 5-10, 1 female 15-20, and one female age 40-50. By 1840 he has apparently died. Listed in this county is a Mrs. Mary Campbell age 50-60 (apparently his wife) Possible sons listed in 1840 age Frederick Campbell and John H. Campbell.
----------------------------------
There is another John Campbell, born ca 1777 who married Emeline Cowen. John was the son of David Campbell and Jane Montgomery Cowen. Does anyone have their children? They moved from Augusta County, Va to Wilson County, Tennessee.
-------------------------------------
Rev. John Campbell, born 1779 Rockbridge County, VA, son of John Campbell and Mary Ann Downey. This John married Mildred Walker Moore.
---------------------------------------
This John Campbell was born October 1780. He married Sally Kimbrough. He died in Giles County, TN 6 April 1850
-----------------------------------------------

If ANYONE has any information about these John Campbells I would appreciate receiving information. I descend from John Campbell, born ca 1779 in VA. He was in Jackson County, Alabama where he owned land. I descend from his son George Lafayette Campbell.
