Help! Looking for information on my great grandfather, John Sasser Vining b. approx 1846. Married July 11, 1864 to Mary Jane Devison(spelling??) . I don't know if this is supposed to be Davison or Davisen, etc. They had three children, Betsy, John and Luttie (Married a Barnes). He served with the 3rd Tenn Cavalry in the Civil War and then shows up again in Mississippi and married Laura Murphree on 12/17/1879.
I can track him from MS. but don't know what happened to his first wife. I have info that she was in Franklin County, Tn in late 1800's but since I am unable to read last name for accuracy, am unable to track her.
Any info at all would be a big help.
