Some Old-Timer knows; Auston/Robinson
Some one out there, probably an old-timer, has heard or knows the truth about this story. An Auston (Austin) woman married a James or John Robinson who worked for or owned a circus in the early or mid 1800's. She begged him to stay with her and quit traveling around the country but he refused to listen. On one of his travels, she packed up their children, left and moved in with her parents and ghanged their names back to Auston (Austin) and her parents helped her raise them.
I know that one son was named John E. Auston (Austin) because he was my grandfather and he died in Marshall County, Alabam on June 11, 1936.
If you have any info on this, please contact me at this forum or the Austin, Robinson or Buchanan forum or at myemail listed below.
Thank you and may God bless,
John E.
