eleazar bailey, rebecca herrin, and nancy hinds

I am looking for information on the Eleazar Bailey family. Eleazar Bailey(August 24, 1839 to April 7, 1883) was the son of Hiram Henry Bailey and Edith Thompson of Marshall County Alabama. During the Civil War he was in Company G Russels 4th Alabama Calvary. He is buried in Haney Chapel Cemetery in Marshall County. He first married Rebecca Herrin on January 18, 1870 in Marshall County. Rebecca's parents were Lemuel Anderson Herrin and Lavina S. McWilliams. Some printed sources indicate that he married a Rebecca Harris, but this is INCORRECT. Rebecca Herrin Bailey died on September 25, 1870 while giving birth to twin sons, James R. Bailey and Jerome Josephus Bailey. He then married Nancy Hinds on Feb. 20, 1871. Nancy's parents were Joseph Hinds and Elvira Thompson. Nancy had the following children with Eleazar: Rebecca Ann b.1872, Edith Elvira b.1874, Wilburn McKindred b.1876 and Walter Theodore b. 1878. Nancy Bailey died on April 17, 1917. Nancy Hinds Bailey and Rebecca Herrin Bailey are buuried in Haney Chapel Cemetery in Marshall County.

Children of Eleazar Bailey.
1. James R. Bailey (9-25-1870 to 12-23-1943) married Melvina McClendon(12-24-1874 1-29-1955) in Marshall County in 1892. Melvina's praents were James McClendon and Julia Payne. The couple moved to Cherokee County Texas in 1904 and later to Port Arthur, Texas. The couple had five children. James died on December 23, 1943 in Port Arthur,Texas. Melvina died on Jan. 29, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas. Both are buried in Bullard Cemetery in Smith County Texas

2.Jerome Josephus Bailey(9-25-1870 to 6-25-1939) married Mary Della Mitchum(10-11-1877 to 3-9-1955) in Marshall in in 1896. Her parents were Thomas Mitchum and Margaret Elizabeth (maiden name unknown). The couple moved to Cherokee County Texas in 1904. The couple had seven children. Jerome J. Bailey died on June 25, 1939 in Cherokee County Texas. Mary Della Bailey on March 9, 1955 in Smith County Texas. Jerome and Mary are buried in Bullard Cemetery in Smith County Texas.

3.Edith Elvira Bailey ( 8-6-1874 to 3-12-1902) married
Boyd Bledsoe Hodges (7-22-1872 to 10-7-1946) in Marshall County in 1893. Boyd's parents were James Wesley Hodges and Parthenia E.Bledsoe. The couple had four children. Edith died on March 12, 1902 at the age of 27. She is buried in Haney Chapel Cemetery in Marshall County Alabama.

4.Wilburn McKindred Bailey(8-8-1876 to 5-23-1949) was born in Marshall County. His first wife was named Pearl(2-22-1891 to 6-8-1917). I do not know her maiden name. Pearl and Wilburn had one child, Nellie Irene Bailey. Pearl is buried in Haney Chapel Cemetery. Wilburn's second wife was named Kate (12-25-1884 to 8-17-1966). I do not know Kate's maiden name. Wilburn and Kate are buried in Martling Cemetery in Marshall County.

5.Rebecca Ann Bailey (12-31-1872 to 5-25-1946) married Walter Parris ( 8-19-1868 to 6-18-1939) in 1904 in Marshall County. His parents were Henry Parris and Millie Johnson. Rebecca and Walter had eight children, three of which died in infancy including a set of twins. Rebecca Ann Parris died May 25, 1946 in Marshall County. Walter Parris died on June 18, 1939 in Marshall County. Rebecca and Walter are buried in Martling Cemetery in Marshall County Alabama.

6.Walter Theodore Bailey ( 9-7-1878 to 1-15-1949) married Sallie ( 12-2-1881 to 8-31-1953) in Marshall County. I do not know her maiden name. Walter and Sallie had two sons Malcum who died in infancy and Buford. Sallie and Walter are buried in Haney Chapel Cemetery in Marshall County Alabama.
