Sorry it took so loong to respond I have been away from my computer all week.

I am looking for ANY information on the descendants of William Cheek Swearengin. Also how many or which of his descendants spelled the name Swearengin. I am not descended from William Cheek but from another related line who also spells it Swearengin. I am descended from William Cheek's first cousin Hugh Swearengin who lived in Jackson Co., TN, where William Cheek lived prior to moving to Jackson Co., AL. Hugh was the son of Richard Cheek Swearengin's older brother Van. Van's sons and a couple of his daughters followed Richard Cheek to Jackson Co., TN 1810-1820. Hugh's descendants spelled it Swearengin while descendants of Hugh's brother William tended to spell it Swearingin. I am trying to CORRECTLY compile and document where possible the descendants of Samuel Swearingen Jr as I have, in my research, found all past accounts of Samuel Jr to be flawed or fraudulent.
