I believe that Martha Jane Etheredge Little and Gray Little lived in Pineville or Putnam as it is known now.
Martha and Gray didn't have any children and she evidently died before he did because she left her neice, Sallie K. Glass Compton a rocking chair that she was supposed to receive after Gray died and the rocking chair was given to her in a will dated 1880. I have a copy of it here.
The Little's still lived in Putnam when I was a child-MANY years ago. Martha's father and mother lived over in Half Acre which is closer to Sweet Water.
Then we have Nancy Mayton who married Lucius Little and they had a son William Gray Little who married Lelia Gray Johnson in 1924.
I don't remember which Little it was but one of them got married at Mr. Tom Johnson's store in Putnam. Mr. Tom was my step-great grandfather. I always wondered if the Johnson's who appear to have come from Tennessee and the Littles knew each other before arrival to Alabama.
