Hello! I am from Alabama and have visited the Putnam Cemetery in Marengo County. I do know there are Barney gravemarkers at that cemetery. I have heard of land known as Barney's Upper, which was adjacent to land that was owned by my ancestors. I understand that the Barney family was wealthy and I remember seeing a SPECIAL grave of an elderly female family member. I have viewed a list of all graves at the Putnam Cemetery on Genealogy. com. I hope this bit of information will be helpful.
