Looking for a date of death for Lewis G. Evans Of Marengo Co. AL, born circa 1820. He married Mary Jane Quinney/Quenney (c1826-1851) in Marengo Co. 31 May 1841. After her death he married Harriet Elizabeth "Lizzie" Grayson, whom he called "Bettie," 4 Nov. 1852. She was b. 20 Oct. 1837, and was the daughter of Young W.Grayson and Emeline Capell Grayson. They were living in Marengo Co. in the 1860 census. In June 1864 Lizzie married William Hite Grayson, her sister Sallie's widower, in Clarke Co.--I am a descendant of this second marriage and would like to find a date of death and burial site for Lewis Evans.
Children born to his first marriage were Lula Evans (c1842, Wayne S. Evans (c1845), and Martha"Mattie" Evans (c1848-12 Sept. 1942). Martha married Robert Emmett Allen. There may have been other children born to the first marriage -- these are the only names I have.
Children born to the second marriage (again, there may have been others), were Susan Emma (16 Sept. 1857-after 1943)and Mollie (?) (circa Feb. 1860-before 1870). Susan Emma married William J. Johnson of Clarke Co.
