My 4th great grandparents were Elizabeth Eddy and John William Jones. They married September 5, 1815 in the Mississippi Territory in an area that would later become Madison County, Alabama.
It is my speculation that Elizabeth was from the Aday family and Eddy is a spelling variation. I found a marriage record for Loyd Eddy (abt 1780 - aft 1840) and Margaret Beddle *abt 1780 - aft 1840) on January 15 1798 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. (I believe Loyd was the son of Water Aday and Mary Maxey.) I believe Elizabeth might have been the daughter of Loyd and Margaret.
My Elizabeth Eddy (Aday) was born in Tennessee in ca 1799/1800. She was 15 when she married John William Jones.
Their son Levi Bauze Aday Jones was born 7 years after their marriage and is their first proven child. He was my 3rd great grandfather.
I further speculate that Levi was named after Boaz Aday, whom may have been the brother of Loyd Eddy (Aday).
In about 1844 John William Jones and Elizabeth Eddy with most of their children moved to Scott County, Arkansas. I'm looking for any other information on these families to help me tie this together. Any help is greatly appreciated.
